Hardin County Schools has another tool to communicate with students, parents, staff and the community.

Smart device users can download the HCS App from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

“This is another way for our families, staff and community to stay in touch with our amazing school district,” HCS Superintendent Teresa Morgan said.  “Users will receive immediate notices regarding district-wide news and announcements.  They also can subscribe to receive announcements from their school.  We will continue to send phone calls and texts as well as information on our websites and social media outlets.”

To ensure that users are downloading the correct Hardin County Schools app, they should seek “HCS” in the customary blue and green circles that are part of the district logo.  There are no apps for individual schools.  However, users can opt in to receive information and push notifications for just the school(s) to which they are connected and the district.  Users are urged to choose “Hardin County Schools”

HCS is debuting the app in collaboration with a new all-call messaging system from Apptegy.   That system is called ThrillShare.  Parents, guardians and staff will not have to do anything to receive information from the ThrillShare.  It will work like previous all-call messaging systems in sending phone calls and texts to phone numbers already affiliated with students in the HCS Infinite Campus system.

“We do ask for some patience as there may be some kinks to work out in the beginning,” Morgan added.  “This will be a great addition and will help parents become even more engaged with what is taking place at our schools."
