This year, both Boerne High School and Boerne Samuel V. Champion High School have been named to the national AP Honor Roll.

BOERNE, TX - Each year, high school students across the country take Advanced Placement (AP) courses that challenge them and prepare them for higher education.

The College Board’s AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening participation. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness. The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

Boerne ISD boasts a 99% graduation rate, and 95% of our students graduate with certifications, credits, or pathways that classify them as College, Career, or Military Ready.

We are proud to share that this year, both Boerne High School and Boerne Samuel V. Champion High School have been named to the national AP Honor Roll!

Congratulations to Boerne High School, which has been named to the 2025 AP School Honor Roll! Boerne High School is a SILVER member of the Honor Roll! Boerne HS had 60% of seniors who took at least one AP Exam during high school, 46% of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP Exam, and 27% of seniors who took five or more AP Exams!

Congratulations to Boerne-Samuel V. Champion High School which has been named to the 2025 AP School Honor Roll! Boerne Samuel V. Champion High School is a SILVER member of the Honor Roll! Champion HS had 63% of seniors who took at least one AP Exam during high school, 48% of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP Exam, and 30% of seniors who took five or more AP Exams!

Chief Instructional Officer Larissa Flores shared, “Across Boerne ISD, we constantly strive to prepare students to meet whatever tasks lie ahead of them. AP courses set students up for advanced learning and help them to develop invaluable skills. We’re so proud of the staff, students, and programs that helped both of our high schools achieve this recognition.”

Superintendent Dr. Kristin Craft added, “In Boerne, we’re used to seeing students excel. It’s one of the things that makes up the dynamic center of our Boerne Advantage. We never take excellence for granted, though. It takes so much coordination, dedication, and persistence to achieve these kinds of results. We are so grateful that our students and staff are receiving this much-deserved recognition.”

In 2024-25 alone, Boerne ISD students earned thousands of college credits through AP courses and testing, saving families $865,917 in college credit costs.

College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) enables students to pursue college-level studies—with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both—while still in high school. Through AP courses in 40 subjects, each culminating in a challenging exam, students learn to think critically, construct solid arguments, and see many sides of an issue—skills that prepare them for college and beyond. Taking AP courses demonstrates to college admissions officers that students have sought the most challenging curriculum available to them, and research indicates that students who score a 3 or higher on an AP Exam typically experience greater academic success in college and are more likely to earn a college degree than non-AP students.
